Imagine: your wedding, your corporate event, your product launch, your private evening. In the middle of the party, an illustrator at her easet captures live scenes — guests, smiles, details we would not have seen, the scenery, the moment. This is exactly what Julie Valette proposes as Studio Pyrene.
Live-sketching, what is it?
Live-sketching (or event painting) is the art of drawing or painting live during an event. The artist settles down with his material and crucifies what is happening before his eyes: portraits of guests, scenes of life, details of the place, general atmosphere. He is not a photographer — it is a look, an interpretation, a human and sensitive trace that no one else can reproduce.
At the end of the evening (or in the days that follow), guests leave with a totally unique memory: their portrait, or a scene they have lived, captured by Julie's brush.
An artist, two universes
Studio Pyrene is first Julie Valette, an event painter and illustrator based in the South West. It intervenes on weddings, honour wines, pro events, launches, birthdays — wherever a living artistic presence brings this little spark that makes the difference.
Beyond events, Julie also works in more classical illustration: custom orders, custom creations, drawings. Currency and orders in DM via Instagram @studio pyrene.
A broad sector of intervention
Studio Pyrene travels throughout the Basque Country, the Landes and the Gironde. Ideal for organizers of events in the region who are looking for an animation that really comes out of the ordinary — well beyond the photobooth or DJ.
His 2026 calendar is open: if you have an event that deserves a pencil rather than a camera, it's the right time.
