In the heart of Petit Bayonne, rue Bourgneuf, La Transversale is not a shop like any other. Under a single sign, there is a collective of local artisans and artisans, each with its universe, its technique, its brand — and all driven by the same desire: to bring local creation to life and share their know-how with those who push the door.Born in associative form in 2018, La Transversale has established itself as one of the warmest meeting points between creators of the Basque Country and curious public. No industrial production, no intermediary: behind each room, there is one person, and often even a workshop that can be visited a few steps away.A dozen universes in one placeAt La Transversale, we pass in a few meters from one universe to another:
Gold jewels in fine gold with M'ave vu (Christelle), resin pieces at Nadinedorey (Nadine).
Hand-modeled ceramic in chamotted sandstone at Atelier Be cauli (Laurène, which also offers zero waste sewing).
Macramé, punch needle and crochet decoration with Octopus Creations (Anne).
Tailored pads and Mexican embroidery kits with Melon Workshop (Viviana).
Clothes and ethical objects at Justesse (Pierre), manufactured in workshops respectful of men and the planet.
Colourful and happy children's seam with Marmoka (Anaïs).
Ocean & surf illustrations, hand drawn and numbered, by Fiona.
French organic infusions signed Lets infuse (Priscilla and Shannon).
Textile articles (bags and more) at Maison Qibakibrille (Aurélie).
Every visit, creations evolve — that's also what makes the place so alive. A place where we come to learn, not just buy The other strength of La Transversale is his DIY workshops. Every month, several designers open their universe and offer initiation sessions: macramé, embroidery, ceramics, sewing, punch needle... We come out with a piece that we made ourselves, and often the desire to come back. Planning for the upcoming workshops is shared on Instagram and posted in store. The spirit of Petit BayonneLocated at 15 rue Bourgneuf, in one of the most beautiful arteries of Petit Bayonne, La Transversale is part of the neighbourhood's identity: creative, independent, popular. It is the perfect address to bring back from the Basque Country something other than a product of commerce — an object designed, manufactured, signed by someone who can often be met on the spot.
