In the heart of Maharin Park in Anglet, a small green water caravan from the 1970s set its wheels a few seasons ago — and never left again. It is La Dinguette, a guinguette-foodtruck imagined by Audrey and Séverine, two friends who dreamed since 2016 to set up a project together.
Audrey, nurse and mother of three children; Séverine, photographer with a solid experience in restoration abroad. After a first attempt elsewhere, they propose to the Town Hall of Anglet to install their foodtruck in this green setting. The bet was crazy. Without advertising, just with word of mouth, they created in a few seasons one of Anglet's most beautiful places of life.
Here we eat, eat local
At the Dinguette, the kitchen is homemade and changes every day. Three dishes are offered with slate, including a vegetarian, accompanied by sandwiches, pancakes, drop cookies, syrups, coffees and fresh drinks. The menu is simple, gourmet and accessible — the regulars boast as much lasagna, the small dishes of the day as the famous homemade cookies.
The atmosphere does the rest: tables under the trees, children who cycle on the paths of the park, parents who finally blow, the smile of Audrey and Séverine behind the counter. That's exactly what the Dinguette is: a bubble of calm and conviviality where you take time.
More than a foodtruck: a place to live
Because for Audrey and Séverine, eating is not enough to feed the soul, Dinguette is also a cultural place. Throughout the season, they organize concerts, workshops, plays, tales — children are entitled to the sessions told by Julie. What to turn a simple lunch or a late afternoon into a happy parenthesis.
It is this mixture — good cuisine, nature, music, smiles — that makes La Dinguette, in a few summers, a precious address for the Angloys and far beyond.
A seasonal parenthesis
Little detail to know: The Dinguette operates during the season and closes its shutters at the gates of winter, the time to blow before returning to spring. One more reason to enjoy every moment spent under the trees of Maharin.
